The challenge
Our approach
Recognising the importance of effective change management, we collaborated closely with internal stakeholders, including HR and Training & Learning teams, to develop a streamlined approach.
The change management strategy emphasised clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and structured training to ensure a smooth transition.
One key initiative was the creation of an internal website designed to serve as a go-to resource for engineers. This platform provided easy access to relevant information about the Act, compliance policies, and step-by-step guidance on registration and governance requirements.
To embed these changes effectively, we conducted interactive workshops, ensuring all affected engineers understood the new framework.
Additionally, a structured training schedule was introduced to support both current engineers and new graduates, fostering long-term compliance and knowledge retention.
Ongoing feedback loops and support mechanisms were put in place to address concerns and ensure the new processes were adopted effectively.
Outcomes and benefits
The internal website became a valuable tool for engineers, offering a single source of truth for compliance-related information. This resource reduced the need for in-person training sessions, leading to significant cost savings by eliminating travel expenses and minimising disruptions to project work.
At the start of the initiative, a substantial number of engineers were unregistered. Through the structured training and support provided, this number was significantly reduced, demonstrating a strong shift toward compliance.
The organisation shifted to a sustainable, user-friendly system in place, ensuring engineers have ongoing access to the information they need to remain compliant with industry regulations.
By ensuring compliance and training, this initiative has led to a more skilled engineering workforce, improved infrastructure standards, and safer roads.
In the long term, these measures contribute to reducing accidents, increasing efficiency in transportation networks, and fostering economic growth by ensuring well-maintained infrastructure.
