GIVIT is an organisation that facilitates generous people to give goods, services and time to people in need in Australia, at the right time when people need it most.
GIVIT has had extraordinary growth in the 11 years they have been operating, going from a website and 15 charities on board in Brisbane in 2009, to working with almost 4000 charity organisations with 3,494,552 items donated, and expanding the team nationally in 2020.
GIVIT was looking for a way to support this growth and their goal to use technology to make giving easy. This means GIVIT needed a clear articulation of their strategic intent, and a strong understanding of their current technology platform both operationally and externally to make the right decisions and investments in the future.
Bdna was called upon to provide strategic and technology advisory expertise.
Bdna facilitated a workshop with GIVIT leaders and Board members to clarify and align the team around their strategy, including understanding who their customers and competitors are, drafting a mission statement and actions to bring the broader team on the journey. Bdna provided further advice following the workshop as GIVIT documented their strategy.
A second workshop focused on the technology pillar of the strategy with Bdna providing the knowledge and expertice enabling the team to build a prioritised roadmap over three time horizons.
The GIVIT team are aligned around a clearly articulated 2021-2025 strategy on a page successfully presented to the board.
The team also now has a strong understanding of the technology decisions needed to enable their goal of growing the platform, enabling efficiences and building a foundation for global giving. GIVIT are now well placed to make foundational decisions on technical investment.
